Atlas of 100 new professions and 30 dying professions. Atlas of new professions (professions of the future). Important additional information

The Moscow School of Management (MSM) Skolkovo, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, has prepared an atlas of 100 new and 30 dying professions. According to it, such professions as a diagnostician, stenographer, travel agent, seamstress, elevator operator, postman, etc. will die out by 2020. After 2020, there will be no journalists, legal advisers, notaries, pharmacists, analysts, bank workers, logisticians, lecturers. They will be replaced by city farmers, eco-urbanists, biotransducers, time brokers, GMO agronomists and other specialists of the future.

Russian newspaper talked on this topic with two members of the NP "Experts of the Labor Market". The atlas will be distributed in universities and schools to demonstrate that lawyers and economists are no longer needed. However, not all labor market experts agree with this forecast. In particular, Vera Anistsyna, head of the recruitment group of the UNITY recruitment agency, doubts in realism such studies: “It is extremely doubtful that in 6–10 years there will be no postmen or seamstresses, and no other specialists listed in the atlas. In the short term, such assumptions look like quotes. from fantastic novel. It is possible that in the long term these forecasts will partially come true, but it is unlikely in our lifetime.”

“How seriously should we take forecasts that in a couple of five-year periods taxi drivers, notaries, accountants, translators, tour operators will suddenly turn out to be unclaimed and air traffic controllers? - asks Ruslana Berend, Head of Banking/Finance, Imperia Kadrov Holding (corporate member of NP Experts of the Labor Market).- And to the fact that the demand for designers will suddenly increase sharply virtual worlds and space engineers? It is obvious that the likelihood that in the near future the functions of transporting passengers, balancing balance sheets and issuing testamentary dispositions and powers of attorney will be shifted to the shoulders of almighty machines is greatly exaggerated. It is even more unlikely that in the modern world with its permanent economic problems, man-made disasters, political crises and local military conflicts, specialists in the field of "corporate anthropology" and "time brokerage" will suddenly be in demand.

According to recruiters, today there is a greater trend towards an increase in demand at multifunctional specialists with qualifications in several professional fields at once, for example: a lawyer-economist; pharmacist-marketer; notary translator.

However, one of the authors of the atlas, Pavel Luksha, professor of practice at Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, does not agree with this assessment. “Our work was carried out according to a methodology that has been validated with leading international experts in the field of forecasting needs in labor markets, including the International Labor Organization. The conclusions are based on an analysis of trends that are developing in 19 major sectors of the economy, including on statistical data, development forecasts and investment and research plans of leading public and private companies. They were formed and repeatedly confirmed in work with leading industry experts in each of the industries - with people who know the real practice of these industries and what is planned in them. In this sense, none of the professions is a fantasy for us, they have all been offered industry experts as a result of the analytical and strategic sessions. Since we are talking about new professions, they, of course, will not be like the professions that are on the market now. These are professions that deal with tasks that do not currently exist, that are just emerging. Many of these tasks look fantastic for non-specialists, but they are already part of the industry practice. This confirms and Ruslan Larin, Director of the Human Resources Department at Diarsi Group of Companies, member of the NP Experts of the Labor Market: “I paid attention to those professions that are in demand today, and I am sure that they will be in demand even more by 2020. Increased demand, for example, on cybersecurity and other data security professionals is dictated, of course, by the increasing number of cyberattacks over the Web. A personal brand manager is a topic not only in 2020, but also today. Not only well-known people are thinking about creating the right image on public platforms, today it is already important for every top manager or expert in the market.”

Do you know what a "pinspotter" is? So earlier, at the beginning of the last century, they called the boys who worked on the bowling alley, who put the skittles and served the balls. And who is the "ice cutter"? A man who, in the days when there were no refrigerators, prepared ice. As you might guess, these professions have long been gone, like many others. And in general, according to experts, by 2030 57 professions will cease to exist (including lecturer, conductor, janitor, telephone operator, postman, and so on), but 186 new ones will appear. So today's students should make a choice with an eye to the future.

Judge for yourself: quite recently, such names as an accessible environment designer, a cyber prosthesis developer, a smart home architect, a remote security coordinator, and the like were found only in science fiction novels. And now thousands of people around the world are doing this, and their number will only increase. Especially in order to make the future closer, an “Atlas of New Professions” has been created - an almanac promising industries and professions relevant for the next 15-20 years. This impressive book was developed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO based on the results of the large-scale study “Competence Foresight 2030”, which is unique for Russia. The atlas can be found at http://atlas100.ru.

In the modern world, any profession within a short period of time is able to receive new content and break up into great amount completely different specialties, - says the head of the ASI direction "Atlas of new professions" Dmitry Sudakov. – Science and technology are developing so intensively that universities have to take radical measures, change not only the content, but also the very approaches to higher education. The system of training a specific specialist is doomed, if only because the training cycle is 4-5 years, and during this period cardinal changes take place in technologies and much knowledge becomes obsolete. Even a textbook loses a lot in the time it takes to go to print. The way out is that it is necessary to radically revise the entire education program, starting with kindergarten, focusing primarily on the development of motivation, independence, responsibility.

But the main problem, according to Dmitry Sudakov, is that we have lost an extremely important competence - to think about the future, to be able and have the courage not only to think about what will happen in 10, 20, 30 years, but also to start doing something concrete implementation of the plan. The “Atlas of New Professions” just gives the guys the opportunity to feel like real builders of this future, to design their lives with an eye on decades to come. If we do not do this, we will all have to live in someone else's future, which other people will create for themselves. And not the fact that we will like it. But in order to avoid serious contradictions, in which direction to develop, you need to learn to negotiate, establish communications, correctly express your thoughts, be not only persistent, but also patient.

Of course, career guidance work must be carried out both at school and in the family, everyone should be interested in this, - the chairman of the IAS “Intellect of the Future” is sure Lev Lyashko. - We need to tell the guys about professions, about universities where they train in certain specialties, about vacancies, salaries, and so on. However, it is equally important to convey to them another thought - do not be afraid to change your profession! Moreover, this is also one of the skills of the future. Yes, you need to be able to choose what you like and try to reach perfection in it. But it should not be that a person becomes a hostage to a choice made long ago and for decades to pull a cart that has long been a burden to him. It is necessary to teach children to adapt flexibly to the realities of the time and strive to ensure that work brings pleasure.

By the way, almost all the activities of the Minor Academy of Sciences help schoolchildren to find themselves in one or another area of science, culture, and art. And no matter what the student does, no matter what topic his work is devoted to, the acquired skills will help him in choosing a life path and achieving his goal. Among the “MAS graduates” there are a huge number of successful scientists, businessmen, politicians, leaders. By the way, many of them continued their development in the direction that they began to develop at school, choosing one or another project, research work.

Look at the list of creative scientific works, with which the guys came to the festival: “Comparison of literary works and film adaptations”, “Mathematics in football”, “Influence of sound on the human body”, “Creation of a fuel cell based on silicon carbide” ... Who knows, maybe someone from Are they going to receive a Nobel Prize?

Young researchers take on topics that are quite adult, vital, directly related to what is happening in our society: “Dissidents of the Soviet era and Russian reality: principles, similarities, differences”, “Willpower as self-development in adolescence”, “Technology of information management war “Overton Window”, “Problems of Juvenile Justice”. The guys do not just describe what they see, but analyze, look for a way out, offer their own solutions. And we, adults, need to be able to hear them, help, support them.

To whom to say "thank you"?

All participants of the festival, regardless of age, are very serious about choosing their future profession and shared their stories with us with pleasure. Each of these stories is worth reading...

Viktor BEREZIN, 10th grade student of the Obdorsk Gymnasium, Salekhard, YNAO:

I want to become a specialist in the field of jurisprudence. I used to dream of being a teacher, because my mother works at the school. But dad, sister, sister's husband are lawyers, so I decided to join them. Moreover, I am interested in such subjects as history, law, social studies. In fact, a little bit of everyone played a role in the issue of choosing a profession - the family, the school, and myself.

Sofya SUPOGALIEVA, student of the 10th grade of the medical lyceum at the SSMU. V.I. Razumovsky, Saratov:

I like the profession of a doctor, I want to become a hematologist. I dreamed about this since childhood, as long as I can remember. It was always interesting, I wanted to help people get rid of diseases. My uncle is a doctor, he has a lot of books and magazines on medicine, I also flipped through and read them. True, my parents and uncle do not approve of my choice too much, but I myself still want to. As soon as the opportunity arose, in the 9th grade I entered the medical lyceum, I really like to study here. My uncle even offered me a job as a nurse, thinking it would discourage me. But no, on the contrary! Of course, there is a theoretical possibility that something out of the ordinary will happen, and I will change my mind. But then I will become a chemist, I also like this profession.

Or a linguist because I love foreign languages. Although, of course, it would be better to cover both, and the third, and not choose one of the three.

Olga PATRINA, mathematics teacher at school No. 1, Kondrovo, Kaluga region:

Career guidance work is carried out within the framework of the special course “Choice of Profession”, which is included in the schedule of the 9th grade. With the help of special test technologies, we find out the inclinations and orientation of each child, as well as his interests and preferences. The employment service provides us with information about vacancies and the most in-demand professions, and based on all this data, we tell the children about who the country needs now, where you can learn this, what you need to be able to do, what subjects to study more deeply, and so on. Perhaps it makes sense to introduce this course not in the 9th grade, but earlier. On the other hand, we have well-organized extra-curricular activities, circle work, and this is also career guidance.

Alexander MIKHEEV, 5th grade student of Lyceum No. 22 “Hope of Siberia”, Novosibirsk:

I want to become a musician. Or an engineer. I have been doing robotics since the second grade and have been playing the piano since the age of four. I am interested in both music and technology. As a child, I had a battery-powered plastic keyboard, and my mother noticed that I was good at picking up tunes by ear. So she enrolled me in a music school. And I met robots at school, when we were shown a film and allowed to play constructor.

Ilya YUMASHEV, student of the 10th grade of the Samara Lyceum information technologies :

I have not yet decided on the choice of profession, but I already know for sure that it will be connected with physics. I like this subject, and not in a theoretical, but in a practical sense - to do something, to produce, to build, to calculate some complex structures. Maybe I'll be an engineer. When the physics course began at school, I realized that this was mine. In many ways, I have to thank the teachers for this. But also to my parents, because my dad is an engineer, he helped instill interest in his work. I used to think about going to chemistry. But chemists are required much less than engineers. But you need to think now not only about where to go, but also about where to find a job.

Daniil FEDIN, 5th grade student of school No. 1, Kondrovo, Kaluga region:

Back in the second grade, I decided that I would be a flash animator. Then on New Year my parents gave me a graphics tablet, and I really enjoyed drawing cartoons. I used to want to be an astronaut. Maybe later my parents will give me something else interesting, because of which I will want to become someone else, but for now I like what I have been doing for three years now, and I am not going to give it up. At school, basically, no one says anything about professions. Therefore, those of my classmates who decided to become programmers or designers made their choice thanks to their parents, not teachers.

Alisa GABDRAKHMANOVA, 8th grade student of gymnasium No. 91, Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan:

I want to become a fashion designer. Interest in this business arose back in the fourth grade, when I suddenly wanted to create something of my own, my own. And I've been drawing ever since

I come up with new styles, models. I take examples from famous designers, fashion designers. Like! Parents, teachers, classmates are surprised, for some reason my choice seems strange to them. But they do not dissuade me, which is also good. At school, to be honest, no one tells us anything about professions. Except within the scope of your subject. For some reason, teachers think that if they force children to participate in mathematics or physics olympiads, then we will definitely become mathematicians or physicists. But I would gladly take part in the Design Olympiad. But, as far as I know, there aren't any.

Adult participants of the forum also supported the conversation on the current topic.

Marina CHIZHOVA, lecturer in biology at the Medical Lyceum at the SSMU. V.I. Razumovsky, Saratov:

The default profile of our institution suggests that we have highly motivated children. However, this does not mean at all that all our graduates go to medical universities. Yes, this is not our main goal. We are a general education institution, so we try to raise comprehensively developed schoolchildren, and the fact that they receive in-depth knowledge in some subjects helps them to confidently pass exams in a variety of universities - for example, chemistry, biology, agriculture, and so on. Our task is to help the guys to reveal their potential, show them the prospects for growth, give them a solid base on which they can then cost anything. Yes, on the one hand, since the lyceum still belongs to the medical university, we orient children towards admission there. On the other hand, we in no way force them, we do not limit their ability to choose their future life path. We just teach them, and along the way, we show in practice what doctors of different specialties do. And it's up to everyone whether they like it or not.

Andrey MAKUSHKIN, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology, Institute of Atomic Energy, Obninsk, Kaluga Region:

Career guidance, I am sure, should be started not in any particular class, but at an age when he is able to understand the essence and meaning of this or that activity. But you need to start not at school, but in the family. Parents know their children best, their inclinations, interests. Therefore, it is necessary to provide each child with the opportunity to try himself in this or that business. And best of all, this can be organized with the help of circles in schools or art houses. And it makes sense to introduce some special course dedicated to career guidance, classes designed to orient one or another occupation, not earlier than grades 9-10. And even then - with the obligatory opportunity to choose, build non-standard schemes, work at the junction, so as not to limit the humanities child only to humanitarian subjects, but to interest him in other sciences.

The Minor Academy of Sciences "Intellect of the Future" provides schoolchildren with unique opportunity try, test yourself in a variety of areas of knowledge, and offers a huge choice: more than 100 competitions in projects "Knowledge and creativity", "KIT - creativity, intelligence, talent", "Evrikum", "Intellect Express". On the site http://future4you.ru you will find a list of events and tests for schoolchildren and teachers dedicated to the Atlas of New Professions. Anyone can write an essay, play an exciting game, take part in the Cool Olympiad team competition, or test their wit in the IQ-champion project. As you can see, a whole network of directions has been created for the career guidance of schoolchildren and the disclosure of their talents.

Soviet children wanted to become cosmonauts, policemen, doctors, teachers and engineers. Youth of the 90s - managers, lawyers and economists. Then designers, web developers, marketers and PR people turned out to be in trend. And who will be in demand in five, ten, fifteen years?

The Forsyth Saga

Wishing to answer this question, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), together with the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo, conducted a study called Competence Foresight 2030.

As a result of the study, the "Atlas of new professions" (in the first edition) was released. As the developers of the publication told at a press conference held in ITAR-TASS, the Atlas includes more than 160 new and outdated professions in 19 major industries and technological areas.

Over 2,500 Russian and foreign experts, including representatives of key Russian and international companies and domestic universities, expressed their opinion during the study. Participants analyzed technological, social and economic changes, development plans of leading companies in order to form industry “maps of the future”, where a key role is given to specialists who are able to successfully implement and develop these plans.
Translated from English foresight - a look into the future, foresight. This is a social technology that was created over 30 years ago and is actively used in foreign countries both in business and public administration. It allows participants to jointly create a forecast for the development of a particular industry, region or country and, based on it, agree on how to act in order to achieve the desired.

The basic principles of foresight are as follows: the future depends on the efforts made and can be created, the future is variable (does not stem from the past, but depends on decisions and actions), and the future cannot be predicted with 100% certainty.

I would go into bioethics...

Not only functionality, but even the names of new professions are amazing. Looking at some, it begins to seem that this is not an Atlas of new professions, but an excerpt from a script for a science fiction film.

For example, in the field of biotechnology, in the very near future (until 2020), city farmers will be in demand.

In medicine until 2020 there will be such specialists as a life designer medical institutions and network doctor.

The sphere of land transport will be replenished with the builders of "smart roads". Aviation will need airship designers.
The space industry is completely capable of striking even the richest imagination: according to the developers of the Atlas, after 2020 there will be a need for space tourism managers, space geologists, space biologists and space road engineers.

Along with at least partially understandable names, there are also words that are completely unfamiliar or poorly known to a wide audience, for example, glaze or tutor. There you can also find a game master, bioethics.

In each of the 19 industries studied, from 3 to 14 new professions are listed, which in the very near (until 2020) or more distant future should appear and take their place in the classifier of professions.

Let me teach!

According to the compilers of the Atlas, in the future people will no longer be able to get by with a university diploma alone. The so-called trans-professional skills and abilities will be needed, which include systemic thinking, the ability to intersectoral communication, the ability to manage processes and projects, and the skill of programming IT solutions.

It will also require customer orientation, multilingualism and multiculturalism, the ability to work with teams, groups and individuals, work in a mode of high uncertainty and rapid change in task conditions, the ability for artistic creativity and the presence of a developed aesthetic taste.

Of course, for a particular profession, not all are necessary, but only some of the above qualities and skills. What specifically - the same Atlas will tell.
Within each area, the leading universities of the industry are listed, where it will be possible to get an education in relevant professions and leading companies ready to employ "specialists of the future".

Retired professions

Alas, along with new professions that sound fantastic and relevant in the future, there are those that will soon die out like dinosaurs. The list also includes some very unexpected ones.

So, very soon (until 2020) a estimator, a stenographer, a copywriter, a travel agent, a lecturer, a librarian, a document manager, a tester, a specialist in working with computer users (any key) can become the waiting list for “take-off” among intellectual professions.

After 2020, the turn will reach legal advisers, notaries, pharmacists, analysts, brokers and realtors, secretaries, operators public services, logisticians, dispatchers, bank tellers, journalists, diagnosticians, drillers and system administrators.

As for working professions, ticket attendants, parking attendants, call-center operators, elevator operators and postmen will retire until 2020, and after 2020 - watchmen, miners, freight train drivers, traffic police inspectors, miners, packers, cooks, foremen, seamstresses and shoemakers, taxi drivers.

The main reason for the withering away of the listed professions (both intellectual and workers) is the development of technology and technology, the displacement of human labor by automated ones.

From the past to the future

Of course, all of the named professions will most likely not completely disappear, but they will cease to be mass. This work will only be done individual people in certain cases. For example, human realtors will remain mainly in the premium segment, where personal contact with the client is important, ordinary realtors will be replaced by computer programs.

Many "future professions" have their roots in existing professions. For example, today's IT specialists, both lower and middle-level, may well transform into IT preachers, whose tasks will include not only technical advice and assistance, but also the promotion of new technologies - a kind of missionary activity among people who are conservatively minded relation to technological progress.

By 2020, according to the Atlas, logistics operators will be replaced by cross-logistics operators, whose competence will include choosing the best ways to deliver goods and move people various types transport, monitoring the patency of transport hubs, etc.

There are a lot of such examples, but there is one key point that unites them - all professions evolve in one way or another. The functionality of some is expanding, others are becoming more intelligent and carrying a certain ideological load, and still others will simply be unnecessary.

The creators of the "Atlas of New Professions" do not call on representatives of the above-mentioned specialties to immediately quit their job and run to retrain. The Atlas should rather become a guide and an auxiliary tool for those who are graduating from school today and who will have to decide on their choice of profession in the coming years.
