During the night rehearsal of the Victory Parade on Red Square, for the first time, the Korsair short-range unmanned complex was demonstrated to the general public. Earlier on inclusion new development in the list of equipment that will be shown at the parade, said Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The aircraft is presented in aircraft and helicopter versions. Both types of UAVs are capable of delivering cargo, striking, conducting reconnaissance and electronic warfare.

The Corsair, which is currently undergoing the final stage of testing, belongs to the class of tactical drones. The mass of the drone is 200 kg, the radius of combat use is up to 200 km. Aircraft "Corsair" is made according to the scheme with a pusher propeller. The device is launched from special containers placed on KamAZ. The UAV is armed with the Ataka missile system, capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 6 km, as well as multi-purpose rocket-propelled grenades.

The helicopter version of the "Corsair" is built according to the scheme with coaxial propellers (as in the helicopters of the Kamov Design Bureau). The drone can take off and land in the field from unprepared sites. The helicopter modification of the UAV is equipped with guided and unguided missiles.

UAVs of the Corsair family can be used by units of the ground forces, the Navy, and special operations forces - it is planned that hundreds of drones will enter the troops by 2025.

"Corsair" - the development of the domestic design bureau "Luch" (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region). The enterprise, which is part of the Vega concern, specializes in the development and production of unmanned target aircraft systems and various equipment for collecting and transmitting information.

An innovative workshop for the production of small and medium UAVs and electronic stuffing for them was opened in Rybinsk in September 2015. The United Instrument-Making Corporation (OPK) invested 120 million rubles in the creation of a new production site. In the future, the workshop will be able to produce up to 100 devices per year.

Development work on the Corsair project started, presumably, back in 2013. Two years later, the first model of the device was presented at a closed exhibition as part of the Army-2015 international forum, and in early September of the same year, the first prototype flew.

According to media reports, in terms of the set of functions, the Corsair will be similar to the American RQ-7A Shadow 200 UAV, which is used to receive and transmit data. However, the Russian device is superior to the US drone in a number of parameters: flight duration (up to 12 hours versus 8 for an American), practical range (200 km versus 125) and the range of tasks performed (RQ-7A Shadow 200 is deprived of strike weapons).

"Corsair" was originally developed as a reconnaissance tactical drone. According to Western media, in 2013, the Ministry of Defense placed an order for the creation of a drone with the latest electronic equipment. The functions of the UAV were to include surveillance of aircraft, suppression of signals from aircraft of any type and monitoring of ground space.

On May 9, during the Victory Parade, the Corsair short-range unmanned strike system will be demonstrated. It was first presented at the night rehearsal of the holiday. New Russian drone aircraft(UAV) can be used both for reconnaissance and as an independent attacking unit. "Corsair" is capable of hitting manpower, armored vehicles and engineering fortifications of the enemy. At the same time, the drone surpasses its American counterparts in a number of characteristics, experts say.

In 2017, Russia launched mass production radio-electronic systems of a new generation for equipping UAVs. As Sergey Skokov, deputy general director of the defense industry, said back in February 2016, the designers managed to achieve the main goal: a technology was developed for transmitting large amounts of information over long distances - “tens and hundreds of kilometers”.

According to experts, on-board equipment is installed on the Corsair, which provides real-time data exchange between the ground and the drone over broadband communication networks. This allows command posts and each combat unit to see the data unmanned reconnaissance and make decisions more quickly.

"Another big achievement"

As RT was told by a member of the Association of Operators and Developers of Unmanned Aerial Systems (AERONET) Eduard Baghdasaryan, the Corsair is at the state testing stage and will soon begin to enter the troops. The latest UAV is a universal device, which, depending on the tasks, will be equipped with strike weapons, the expert says.

“First of all, the Corsair was developed as a reconnaissance aircraft for the needs of the ground forces. It has an optical-electronic system, photo and video equipment for reconnaissance in the daytime and at night. At the same time, the payload of the Corsair, which is about 40 kg, allows you to install several missiles weighing 3-4 kg on it,” Baghdasaryan noted.

According to the expert, the calculation of the "Corsair" consists of two people - a remote pilot and an operator. The drone is controlled from a small point, which is located in the truck, from where the device is launched. The decision to use weapons is made by the operator.

In flight, the Corsair can use GPS, GLONASS navigation and "elements of autonomous video image navigation." The device is equipped with an internal combustion engine and can reach speeds of about 150 km / h.

“According to unofficial information, the drone was tested in Syria. Probably, the military is satisfied with the characteristics of the Corsair and therefore decided to demonstrate it at the parade. This is another great achievement and a step in the development of the domestic unmanned aircraft industry,” Baghdasaryan stressed.

The interlocutor of RT believes that combat use"Corsair" is very promising in the conditions of the Syrian operation. Impact drones can replace combat aviation, performing tasks to destroy small gangs, light armored vehicles and jeeps, on which militants move across the Syrian desert.

In the same time Chief Editor UAV.ru, an expert on unmanned aircraft Denis Fedutinov urged not to exaggerate the strike capabilities of the Corsair. In an interview with RT, he stated that the drone is only capable of carrying small-sized weapons, which do not have serious destructive power.

“The deployment of Ataka ATGM launch containers next to the UAV, in my opinion, is more of a conditional demonstration of intentions to create a multifunctional system based on unmanned technologies. In my opinion, most likely, other, less heavy weapons systems will be used on the Corsair, ”Fedutinov suggested.

At the same time, the expert also predicts that the Corsair can be tested during hostilities in Syria: the anti-terrorist operation will reveal strong and weak sides drone. In the Arab Republic, according to Fedutinov, the Corsair will be useful for reconnaissance, target designation, as well as strikes against individual ground targets.

New products, including two Russian attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Corsair", were shown to the general public for the first time as part of the night rehearsal of the Victory Parade in Moscow. Now military equipment can be seen on Tverskaya Street, from where it will leave for Red Square in a few hours.

The first two Russian strike UAVs from the Korsair complex - an aircraft and a helicopter - are presented in the column on KamAZ trucks. The purpose of both types is reconnaissance, cargo delivery, striking and conducting electronic warfare. Aircraft "Corsair" is built of composites according to the aerodynamic scheme with a pusher propeller, has a mass of about 200 kg and can carry Ataka guided missiles, as well as multi-purpose rocket-propelled grenades. Ammunition containers are shown along with the vehicle on a truck bed.

The helicopter "Corsair" is built according to the scheme with coaxial propellers, which provides it with high maneuverability. Unlike the aircraft type, it can take off and land from small and unprepared sites, it can be used both in the ground forces and in the navy. The drone is also armed with guided and unguided missiles.

Complement from a colleague red_army_1917 .The corsair was made on the basis of a two-seat light aircraft Sigma-5 (Sigma-5 was made in the former circle of Young Technicians near Moscow, and may be reproduced in the LDNR as a UAV)

And 200kg is the payload of the Corsair (2 people). Since the Corsair is made on the basis of the Sigma-5 light commercial aircraft, it inherited one very interesting feature from it.

Its wings are folded, which is why it can be hidden both in the tarpaulin body of any truck and in any garage. This makes its appearance in any theater of operations sudden, and if it is also equipped with strike missile weapons, then stunning.

this is the 24th

The Scientific Center for Special Radioelectronic Systems, established at the Moscow Aviation Institute, successfully coped with a complex technical task - it created an airborne radar station for drones and light aircraft. The radar is small and great opportunities radar review.

As specialists in the field of aviation radars told Army Standard, in the fall it is planned to begin state testing of a radar station for promising drones, including for long-duration reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles being created.

It is also planned to equip the Corsair drone with new radars, which is to fly over Moscow in parade formation on May 9 for the first time.

The main technical difficulty in creating radars for drones is weight and size restrictions. Any modern radar is primarily a phased antenna array capable of producing powerful radiation and receiving a large number of signals reflected from targets, as well as high-speed equipment for processing these signals. On large fighters, the antenna fabric fits in the fuselage contours in the nose of the aircraft. The dimensions of the drone are much more modest, and the tasks it has to solve are no less complex - to see the necessary targets on the ground at the maximum possible distance, determine their coordinates and direct artillery, missile or aircraft fire at them.

Specialists told AS that the small-sized radar station will operate in the 8-millimeter K- and Ka-bands. Flight tests of the airborne radar are now being carried out on one of the light manned aircraft - a specially modified An-2. Various modes of equipment are being worked out in flight. Tests refer to flight design testing for the benefit of the developer. Already obtained preliminary results show that the characteristics of the radar previously declared. In particular, with the help of radar, mapping of the earth's surface was successfully carried out, which allows us to speak about good prospects using him as a scout.

The creators believe that the flight design tests of the new development on a light aircraft will be completed in May-June. At the end of the third - beginning of the fourth quarters, the radar will enter the stage of state tests as part of the Corsair drone. There are no schedule delays.

Two radar stations have already been built for a promising drone. However, the radar, according to the developers, can become universal. It can be quickly and inexpensively adapted into the on-board equipment of not only drones, but also manned aircraft and helicopters. For example, the Yak-130 combat training aircraft developed by the Irkut corporation or the Ka-52 attack helicopter of the Kamov company. Irkut is satisfied with the characteristics of the radar developed by the MAI.

Unmanned aerial systems "Corsair" will be presented to the general public for the first time at the parade in honor of Victory Day on May 9 in Moscow. The drone was created in two versions - one of the helicopter type, with two coaxial propellers, the second - of the aircraft type, with a wing. The devices are designed for patrolling the area, aerial photography and reconnaissance. In addition, drones can be used for cargo transportation and electronic warfare.

The aircraft "Corsair" turned out to be quite impressive: its wingspan is 6.5 meters, and its length is more than four. The device has a mass of about 20 kg. Such an apparatus takes off only from a specially prepared runway. The range is up to 120 kilometers. In the strike version, the drone can carry guided missiles and rocket-propelled grenades. The unmanned aircraft is made of composite materials. The screw is located at the back and is pushing.

The helicopter "Corsair" is capable of landing on small sites, including on the decks of ships. It can fly over land and sea. As a reconnaissance and strike aircraft, it is capable of carrying guided and unguided missiles.
