Installing the arches of the Crimean bridge in the design position is a unique technological operation. For the first time in the history of domestic bridge building, transportation, positioning in sea conditions and installation from the water on supports of an overall navigable span are carried out. The maritime operation is carried out in conditions of limited navigation with a time "window" of 72 hours. In general, the operation brought together more than a hundred specialists - sailors, specialized engineers, employees of research institutes and ordinary bridge builders.

Ahead is one of the most important stages of the grandiose construction - the workers must assemble a multi-ton structure, connect the bridge supports and the arched span together. It is planned that the arch will be raised to the design height of 35 meters already in the evening and at night. Slowly and carefully, at a speed of approximately five meters per hour. Accordingly, the entire operation will take more than seven hours.

The arched span was delivered to the installation site that night.

“A unique operation was performed tonight, in principle, this is the heart of the bridge. This arch was delivered to the fairway and will be installed in the alignment of the bridge, ”said Arkady Rotenberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stroygazmontazh.

“Everything that was done this night is, in principle, the hard work of the whole team for more than six months. The journey of more than four kilometers was overcome in an hour and a half. Here, the floating system was pulled up to the bridge alignments and fixed with anchor cables. The lifting operation involves engineers, slingers, welders, surveyors and quality control specialists. Any possible deviation from the intended course will be noticed instantly - 20 sensors are installed on the arch - strain gauges that monitor any changes in the structure.

“Sensors that allow you to control the change in the stress-strain state. All controlled parameters in the monitoring process, regardless of whether the sensors are on the arch or the sensors are on floating pores, or on supports, all these parameters flow into one center and are monitored in real time, ”explained CEO Research Institute of Diagnostics Svetlana Bokhanova.

Before the completion of the naval operation, the engineers have a little more than a day. Therefore, the work does not stop even for an hour. It is necessary to have time while the weather is good and there is no strong excitement on the sea. For the duration of the operation, navigation in the Kerch-Yenikalsky Canal was stopped, the captains of the ships were warned in advance. Since the restriction on both sides of the strait, only 28 ships have been waiting for transit wiring, which is several times less than, for example, when delayed due to bad weather.

As soon as the builders complete their work on the fairway, the pilots of Rosmorport will promptly guide the vessels along the canal, and they will be the first to pass under the railway arch of the Crimean bridge. In September, exactly the same engineering operation will be carried out with an automobile arch.
