Letter to the literary hero Raskolnikov. My letter to Rodion Raskolnikov. Composing a letter to Rodion Raskolnikov

FOREWORD
It so happened that one day, when Mr. N was spending his time in one of the archives in search of some materials, he accidentally found a note in a certain newspaper, starting to read it, he could not stop, he was so interested in his subject and point of view on this subject stated in the note. Mr. N re-read the note three times. And although quite a lot of time has passed since the writing of the article, he nevertheless decided to write to the author. It turned out to be a big problem to find out who the author was, since the note was signed with only one letter. But Mr. N was a persistent man. His search was crowned with success, and he managed to find out that the author of the article that interested him so much was called Raskolnikov Rodion Romanovich.
I'm afraid I can't tell here the story of how the author of the letter was looking for Mr. Raskolnikov's address. I also do not know whether the letter reached the recipient or was lost somewhere. But I can quote the text of the letter itself, which I do below.

Hello, dear Rodion Romanovich!

But, what I was trying to make out now, the questions are all superficial, since I caught a much deeper meaning in your article. After all, with your article you are bringing a real split into the established concepts and opinions of the public.
I speak with apprehension about such lofty matters, but I will try to express my thought most carefully so as not to offend anyone. What is the main idea of Christianity? - Love thy neighbour. And if you understand your article, dear author, literally, that is, without delving into the hidden meaning, it turns out that your idea carries a deeper meaning than the division of society into people who have the right and those who do not. That is, as it seemed to me, you deign to ask the society such a question: “Maybe it is you who has the right? Maybe you are an exceptional person? Well, then you should prove it and cross the line. If you can cross this line, commit a crime, then you will prove your exclusivity! But the crime of the edge should not at all be murder or robbery! The idea of exclusivity is not to kill, but to help. If you want, then even in falling in love! After all, out of ten, nine, or even all ten, are capable of killing, but only one was able to help his neighbor, to love him, and his name is Christ. So how can the core idea of exclusivity be just about crossing the line? When the most important thing in an exceptional person is that he leads the world into the future, into a good future. Therefore, if the future is not filled with goodness, then humanity does not need it.
I will be very grateful to you, dear author, if you send me an answer, where you will tell me whether I correctly understood the thoughts set forth in the article. And did I correctly grasp the hidden meaning of the ideas that you deigned to explain. It is very important for me to know the answers to the questions, as these reflections haunt me and require permission.
I wish you good health!

Sincerely, Mr N.

AS A CONCLUSION
It cannot be denied that Raskolnikov is a speaking surname. The question is this - what is Rodion Romanovich splitting into? In the dogmas of that time, in the Christian idea, in the skull of an old woman or in the relationship of people?
It seems to me most likely that F.M. Dostoevsky could not be so cruel as to burden his hero with murder and all subsequent suffering for no reason at all. Therefore, Raskolnikov's idea of people of two categories is, as it were, a provocative idea based on the denial of the vulgarization of the idea of Christianity. And Raskolnikov acts as such a scapegoat, on the example of which F.M. Dostoevsky penetrates into the soul of every believer and not only a person, in order to make it clear the depths of good and evil.

Hello Rodion!

You write in your theory that many of the rulers you admire have risen above the crowd, sacrificing other people. But you didn’t take into account the fact that you can stand out and become interesting, unbanal, bring your abilities to life in other ways, as great artists, writers, and leaders did. After all, you have education, intelligence, perseverance. You are young and brave. You just need to want to act, and you will succeed.
I regard your act as a rebellion, as a rebellion against evil, injustice, vices that reign in the world. This rejection and disgust for the tragic farce of life is reflected in your theory, cold and calculating. The idea that in the name of a new, better one can break the law, and if necessary, “give yourself permission to step over the blood”, took possession of you and found its embodiment in the murder of a decrepit, petty, useless old usurer. But, having stepped over the life of a person, you became a slave to your beliefs. I am glad that you rose up and understood the failure of your idea, realized and repented of your act.

I believe that you will be able to use the chance that I told you about. After all, the obstacles and battles of our life are needed in order to teach us something, even those that we lose. Therefore, do not forget about your intentions, goals, about your dream. Everything is in your hands, the secret of success is this: don't give up!

With wishes of happiness, your friend……!.

Dialogue with a classic

Letter to Rodion Raskolnikov

I learned about you from Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky's novel Crime and Punishment. What feelings did your misconduct, or rather, the crime committed, evoke in me? Surprise, fear, condemnation… what more? At first I really condemned you. You - kind person, loving his sister and mother, managed to understand Marmeladov thrown to the bottom and sympathetically treated the drunk girl on the street. How could you kill a person with such cruelty, and more than one?

Even having got to know you, Rodion, closer and having learned the reason that prompted you to kill, I still could not fully understand and accept your act. You yourself did not fully realize what you had done, because the idea of a “superman” was firmly embedded in your mind. I, in turn, cannot agree with you: a man is a man and there can be no "supermen". There are talented, gifted, oratorical and similar people, but they are just ordinary people like you.

Just look what you have brought yourself to! Was this crime worth the suffering of you and your family? You have "torn off" yourself from people and found yourself alone. For what? However, I am very glad that Sonya was next to you, who managed to understand and support you. She finally found happiness. I am glad that you, albeit not immediately, realized your guilt and repented, admitting your mistake. So you are a strong person.

I, being on the threshold of an independent life, want to ask you, what is the main thing in life? What is worth striving for and how should one live? I think that if we met, then you would tell me the words spoken by Pierre Bezukhov to Andrei Bolkonsky. They sound like this: it is necessary not only not to do evil to others, but also to do good. Agree, this phase contains human wisdom: treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Saying goodbye to you, I hope that common sense won, and your soul, Rodion, is ready to live, love and create ...

Hello, Rodion Romanovich!

I am writing this letter because your theory interested me very much and prompted me to think. In your article you write that people are divided into two categories: “ordinary” and “extraordinary”. "Ordinary", in your opinion, should only continue the human race and be obedient, and "extraordinary", the rulers of mankind, can commit various crimes, murders, if they need it to translate their ideas. Of course, I agree that all people are different, have different abilities and talents, but everyone has the same right to life, no matter who they are. In my opinion, dividing people into only two categories is already unacceptable. For example, a person has talent, he is a genius, he can bring new ideas and thoughts into society, thereby moving the world forward, but he will never dare to kill. Does that mean he's "normal"? I don't think so, it can't be categorized at all. Consider you, Rodion Romanovich. So you decided to kill, you were able to step over yourself, but your conscience tormented you, so you concluded that you do not belong to the “chosen ones”. But how can you be attributed to the number of "trembling creatures"? You yourself understand that it is impossible. Here's your proof

that people are not divided into two categories.

I would also like to say a few words about the murder you committed. You say that "one tiny crime will be atoned for by thousands of good deeds." Yes, I think you're right, but you didn't think about the fact that murder is far from a tiny crime. And anyway, why did you decide that in order to promote your ideas you need to kill? Let's remember the great scientist Isaac Newton, whom you mentioned in your article. He did not commit a single murder or other crime, which, however, did not prevent him from making a number of great discoveries, which

brought mankind to new level development.
I want you to understand one thing: we all have the same right to life. Nobody

has no right to decide who lives and who dies. But I don't blame you. Yes, you committed a crime, but not because you are a villain. On the contrary, you know how to experience, sympathize, worry about others, help others. I am sure that you have many positive qualities and will still have time to accomplish many useful and

necessary things for the whole society.
I hope my letter has given you some thought.

Sincerely, Yana Snikhovskaya, a student of grade 10A, secondary school No. 1970 in Moscow.

My letter to Rodion Raskolnikov

Hello, Rodion Romanovich!
Of course, I was already late with my letter to you. But nonetheless. Of course, I have no right to condemn your act.
But what happened to you, that you ended up in hard labor, is only your fault.
Tell me why it was necessary to kill this old pawnbroker? I do not dispute that she behaved very cruelly towards poor people, and in particular towards you. Rodion Romanovich, of course, I understand that you despaired at that moment, but who gave you the right to kill the old woman and her sister Lizaveta, because you are not God, you did not give them life, and you have no right to take her away? It turns out, Rodion Romanovich, that you are an egoist! And the point is not only that you committed murders, but also broke the lives of living people! Remember how your mother suffered, how she suffered when she was waiting for you. Did she deserve it? Of course not! And Sophia? And so her stepmother broke her life, she also had to go to hard labor for you. You are a cruel man, Rodion Romanovich!
Also, Rodion Romanovich, I am surprised by your ideology about dividing people into two layers. You understand what I am talking about. I can say that this is your right, your thoughts, but again, you cannot decide other people's fates. Absolutely everyone is equal before the law, be it a peasant or a landowner. It doesn't matter.
Rodion Romanovich, I think that you, being in hard labor, realized what you had done. Of course, if not life difficulties, you probably wouldn't have done it all. But you can not all "spire" on these difficulties. You have your own head on your shoulders, and you must think about how to do the right thing, and not just for your own good.
Forgive me, Rodion Romanovich, if something is wrong, if I offended you in some way, but this is my personal opinion and attitude towards your actions.
Sincerely, Elena Dyakonova

Composing a letter to Rodion Raskolnikov

Hello Rodion!
Perhaps my thoughts will not be entirely clear to you, because we are separated by two centuries. And, if we met, then, probably, we might not understand each other. But at all times such concepts as good, evil, beauty, personality, talent, principles and others have been and will be.
As a person of the 21st century, I am worried about other problems, and I dream about something completely different. But what you are experiencing is understandable to me, although not all. Your questions, your theory that there are "ordinary and extraordinary people" resounds today. You know, now many do not want to communicate with those who do not hold any posts, who do not have the right friends, who do not have enough money in the family.

Of course, this is not at all like your theory, but the meaning is the same. In your theory, the division of people “A man or a trembling creature” occurs due to the fact that some people should not break the law, but only “preserve the world and increase it”, while extraordinary people can break the law, because they are not like others and they have talent or even genius. Your thought is clear. But today, people live next to us who break the law very easily. And they do it not because they have some ideas, but because big money or simply because they are sure: no punishment will follow. And after all, many of them think that they have the right to it, that everything is permitted to them.
See how your theory works today. And, to put it bluntly, this is your fault. Of course, you can tell me that your thoughts were far from senseless actions, but you also committed a crime. And it cannot be justified by any reason. Since each of us, people, has our own life, our own thoughts, love, dreams, family. And for everyone it is very expensive.

Someone in this life accomplished a feat - saved the life of another person. Someone made a discovery in science. Someone has achieved fame all over the world, creating paintings, works of art, music. And someone every day brings joy to loved ones, simply because he lives, smiles in the morning, pleases with his marks, and so on. Can this be called "ordinary"? After all, he is the best, the smartest, the most-most for his family.
And it seems to me that having committed a crime, you, Rodion, understood everything yourself. And that's why you suffer so much, blame yourself. And it's good that there are such kind, loving people next to you. They will help you.

If my words seemed harsh to you, I'm sorry, I just couldn't help but tell you all this. Write. Suggest topics for conversation, I will definitely answer.
Goodbye.

The writing

On the topic: Letter to Raskolnikov

I think your face this moment expresses surprise, since you cannot understand what kind of stranger wrote to you? All of the following may shock you, or you will consider me a charlatan, so I advise you to sit down if you have not done so until now.

To begin with, I am from the future, I am exactly from the 21st century. Of course, you can decide that this is nonsense and tear it into small pieces, and then simply throw this letter away. But I do not advise you, Rodion, to do this. After all, thanks to the brilliant Russian writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, I know a lot of interesting things about you.

To begin with, I would like to apologize to you, Rodion! I would never interfere in your personal life, in your biography, praise and condemn you. I know that the memories of past life hardly make you smile. But alas and ah! Nowadays school program according to Russian literature makes you do it.

I would still like to start my criticism on a positive note. Rodion, you are truly a noble man!You are a kind person who loves your sister and mother. You managed to understand Marmeladov thrown to the bottom and sympathized with the drunk girl on the street.

I think you, Rodion Romanovich, understand that a person is a wonderful creature by nature. And if there was nothing interesting in you, there would be no negative qualities, then no one would write about you. You guessed it, I want to talk about the crime you committed and what prompted you to do it.

Rodion! I consider your opinion about “ordinary” and “extraordinary” people and an article about them to be one of the most important fragments of the novel “Crime and Punishment” (yes, it is called that way). After all, if it were not for this theory, then there would be no crime and, accordingly, punishment. In fact (although I may be considered a hypocrite) I adhere to your point of view, with only one important change: any person, even the greatest, cannot commit unlawful murder. After all, if the whole world knew about your theory, imagine that things would start to happen: each person would begin to check whether he is “ordinary” or “extraordinary”. The world would be consumed by crime, selfishness and immorality. Rodion Romanovich, I believe that great people should do great, moral deeds. After all, if fate has predestined you to change the world, then you yourself will feel it.

I am very sorry for your family and friends. How much grief did they endure? Only one person remained next to you, ready to support you - Sonechka Marmeladova. Appreciate her! Take her as an example of how to treat people.

I'm sorry to trouble you! Good luck!

Pavel Zayats

Greetings from the twenty-first century.
