Finnish houses with barbecue drawings. The construction of a grill house in a summer cottage brings you closer to nature. General idea of Finnish grill houses

In this article, we will tell you in detail how to quickly and beautifully build a hexagonal glazed gazebo with a grill for a summer residence. The area of this gazebo is about 10 square meters and it comfortably accommodates 10

a person, and if you make room, then 15.

We start with the foundation of all foundations - the foundation.

The most optimal foundation for a gazebo where a fire burns is a concrete slab. Of course, you can make a wooden floor, but in this case, no one will insure you from a fire. Do not be afraid of a slab foundation, a gazebo with a grill, a fairly light structure, and does not require fundamental structures, a slab 12-15 centimeters thick is enough. You will need only 5-6 bags of cement, gravel, sand, rebar to taste.

The side of our gazebo is two meters. We mark with pegs an even hexagon with sides of 2.1 meters (the foundation should be slightly larger), we measure the “diagonals”.

When all three diagonals are equal, start work.

For ordinary soil, it is enough to dig a hole 25-30 cm deep and fill it with sand. No need to read gloomy “snip”, your gazebo, not a multi-storey building, of course, if there is peat on the site, then you will have to choose everything, up to denser soil.

You will need 1.2-1.5 cubic meters of concrete - this is only 5-6 bags of cement, sand at the rate of one bucket of cement, three buckets of sand, gravel, the more, the better and reinforcement to taste.

When you fill the hole with sand, put waterproofing on top, cheap roofing felt or polyethylene left over from last year's greenhouse will do.

When you have finished with the foundation for your gazebo with a grill, let's start making it.

Naturally, we start with the purchase of material, the data given here are approximate and depend on your skills in rationally using wood.

Board for the lower strapping 50x150 6 meters long 3 pieces.

Board for the frame 50x100 (or 40x100) 6 meters long 47 pieces.

Planed board or beam simulator for a roof 25x150 (or 40x100) 6 meters long 47 pieces.

A beam simulator of 16 square meters, if you buy a length that is not a multiple of two meters, then you will need much more material.

If your gazebo is glazed, then frames for windows and doors, it is best to buy them in advance at a hardware store, if you are in St. Petersburg, then they are always available in Vimos or Petrovich. Choose the size of the frame according to your taste.

Roofing material 20 square meters, in view of the geometric complexity of the roof of the gazebo, it is optimal to use a soft roof like flexible tiles

To make a grill house, you need a special tool - a miter saw that can cut a 150x50 board at different angles (you can do it manually, but ...) a circular saw that allows you to cut at a given angle, or an electric planer.

Let's start making the frame of the walls.

Board "1" file 6 pieces.

Board "2-3" cut 12 pieces, do not be afraid of an angle of 22.5 degrees, it is fixed on the vast majority of miter saws, when you cut the boards to size, make an angle of 60 degrees on the long side, and on six boards in one direction, on six to another.

Detail "5" and connection dimensions 5 and 4, make according to the size of the frame you purchased.

You need to assemble 5 such structures and a similar structure for the entrance, only part 4 will be one at the top, and parts 5 will dock with part 1.

You only need part 1 to securely fasten it, everything else will be connected with sheathing and your grill house will not go anywhere, due to the hexagonal design and shape of the roof of the gazebo.

Stage two we sheathe the walls with a beam simulator as shown in the figure. When cutting the material, you will understand why we chose an internal dimension of 1950 mm, this allows you to use standard lumber without getting a lot of unnecessary trimmings.

You will have to cut the edges of the beam simulator at 60 degrees, it will seem difficult, but in the future you will understand how much easier it will be in the future when assembling the gazebo.

When you have made all the walls, you can start assembling, this operation takes 30 minutes, install the walls and pull them together with self-cuts.

Align the diagonals and fasten the bottom trim with dowel-nails to the slab, level the top by temporarily securing opposite corners with boards.

Now let's start making the roof. We make blanks for rafters from a board 100X50 (or 40) mm long 2400 mm on one side, remove the angle of about 8 degrees, and put together triangles for the roof elements of the gazebo, as shown in the figure.

When the six triangles are ready, we mount them on the finished walls. For ease of installation, nail a temporary strip on the underside of the triangle to allow the roof element to rest against the wall.

For greater convenience, install a long board in the center of the gazebo and attach it with self-tapping screws to the first section of the roof, fasten the remaining sections together with self-tapping screws, like wall elements. In similar projects of arbors with barbecues, the upper part - a hole for a pipe, is very difficult to manufacture, in our design there are no elements that are difficult to manufacture, in the end, the roof structure is so firmly connected by a crate that allows you to hold not only a large mass of snow, but also several people on the roof.

Before sewing the crate, finally fix the roof elements to the walls.

We suggest welding a special design, if this is difficult for you, use standard corners, having previously bent them to the angle of the roof.

We think with a crate and a soft roof you will not have any problems.

How to glaze a gazebo. I hope you made the right openings for the purchased windows, now it remains to trim them with trim on the inside, as shown in the figure, insert the frame and fix it to the trim with self-tapping screws.

By analogy, insert the doors, and your gazebo with barbecue is ready. In this article, we tried to describe in as much detail as possible the process of making a gazebo with a grill, in the hope that our grill tables, barbecues and barbecues will perfectly complement the gazebo you built.

How to accommodate guests and family during the cold season with minimal risk of freezing? What kind of garden buildings can be created on the site so that the family traditions of cooking barbecue in the open air do not suffer and do not sink into oblivion? There are answers to these questions. And they are hidden in the original Finnish grill house Grillikota.

Peculiarities

The main difference between such a building and a classic insulated gazebo is that a barbecue grill, an open fireplace, in a word, a hearth for cooking and heating a room, is built into it.

The idea of a grill house comes from Scandinavia. It is completely reminiscent of Lapland igloos in its shape and sometimes filling.

The main features of the so-called "Finnish arbors" can be determined by the following points:

  • versatility of construction for any season;
  • the possibility of cooking indoors;
  • the magical shape of a regular hexagon;
  • a small and cozy room with a door and a pair of windows (in rare cases, such a gazebo is equipped with large windows);
  • base - a solid reinforced concrete foundation, strong piles, in a lightweight summer version - a wooden patio;
  • hearth oven for cooking various dishes: from traditional kebabs and grilled vegetables to smoking fish and meat at home.

Despite the fact that the main purpose of the Finnish gazebo is barbecue and gatherings in a narrow family circle at any time of the year, this type of building has several different types. How do they differ from each other and what are they used for? Read on.

Kinds

Varieties of grill houses differ from each other in size (6 m2, 9 m2, 11 m2, 16.5 m2) and the materials from which they are built.

Wooden

The classic version of the Finnish gazebo, which not only makes the complex environmentally friendly, but retains and gives off heat well. When building a grill house made of wood, it is necessary to take into account the fact that a sharp change in temperature can spoil it. Therefore, the outer skin, as a rule, is made of moisture-resistant materials (for example, OSB sheets), and the frame and base are treated with special solutions.

metal

Such barbecue houses in garden plots look very sophisticated and elegant. A metal gazebo will look very good with large windows or polycarbonate walls. Also, do not forget about the treatment of metal with anti-corrosion agents so that the grill house lasts as long as possible.

Stone

An excellent material for creating fundamental buildings. Such a winter gazebo will always come in handy and can serve you not only as a place to relax with the possibility of instant cooking on the spot. Also, it is perfect for accommodating guests at any time of the year, using it as a home mini-office and even a children's indoor playground.

Foam and aerated concrete

Practically insensitive to changes in seasons and temperatures, moisture resistant, and fire safety is at the highest level. The cost of these building materials is very economical. Another advantage of using foam and aerated concrete to build a grill house is its lightness. It will allow you to do without a heavy reinforced concrete foundation.

A barbecue gazebo in Russia often has an open shape. But fundamental buildings with a summer kitchen are extremely popular. Such joint buildings are designed to reduce the air temperature in the main house in the summer heat. The Finnish grill house for a summer residence has a large number of options: with a hearth, with a barbecue, with a barbecue, or with a whole universal oven in the center of the building. If necessary, such a gazebo can be easily combined with a bath or sauna in the same building. In this case, the gazebo serves as a kind of dressing room with additional functionality.

For a children's indoor playground or an additional recreation area, remote from the place of cooking, you can equip a Finnish house with an extension. In this case, of course, it will lose its authenticity, but it will be more practical and roomy.

It is noteworthy that such wonderful gazebos can be equally easily and comfortably both built independently and purchased ready-made.

Buying ready-made options

The birthplace of barbecue pavilions - Finland - has prepared a big surprise for everyone who wants to get their own covered patio with a stove inside.

When buying ready-made grill houses, you should pay attention to two main options: standard economy option and extended premium. Despite the fact that the first one is the most economical and cheapest (its price usually reaches a maximum mark of 200-300 thousand rubles), its quality leaves no questions. In this regard, the Finns are a very responsible people.

Economy pavilions, as a rule, are small in size, designed for a small number of people (no more than 6). Usually these are classic wooden buildings with the simplest uncomplicated hearth. In the economical design range there are inexpensive, but very beautiful trim elements, however, all models are similar to each other both externally and internally. You will have to assemble such a house yourself, but it is not at all difficult. Detailed assembly instructions in Russian will help to assemble a gazebo with a hearth as quickly and accurately as possible.

Reviews about Finnish grill houses of an extended premium level are very ambiguous. Some note a large area of \u200b\u200bthe finished gazebo and a non-standard shape (sometimes large buildings are made in the shape of an octagon). Others react negatively to all the same standard techniques and designs for an unthinkable price (500-700 thousand rubles).

Therefore, a grill house of our own production will turn out to be a much more unique and original option. How to make a universal gazebo with a hearth, we will consider further.

If you still decide to purchase a ready-made barbecue house, we offer you to view the following video, in which you can see how to assemble it correctly.

Self-manufacturing

Before you start making a Finnish grill house on your own, you need to study all the main components of this type of structure, as well as acquire all the necessary materials and tools. The choice of destination will also be important. What will it be: an open summer gazebo / veranda for relaxation or, maybe, a solid stone house for all-season gatherings? After answering these questions, you can start designing.

Calculations

Like any architectural project, a country grill gazebo requires careful concept development. First of all, it is necessary to determine the location of the building, its area. So, to create a Finnish gazebo with your own hands, you need to make drawings based on preliminary calculations. Here is a rough sketch of the simplest building:

This shows that calculations should be made both on the flat surface of the site where the grill house will be located, and in three-dimensional space. A standard grill house has a height of three to three and a half meters (including the roof). One side of the base (hexagon) can be 3.5-4 meters.

When you have finished with the drawings and calculations, you can start choosing the material for building a miracle house.

And in the next video clip, you can take drawings of an octagonal grill house.

Material selection

Modern Finnish arbors are made of tongue-and-groove pine boards - minibars. Despite its air and wind permeability, such material will retain heat in the gazebo with a central grill-stove in any weather and at any air temperature.

For the construction of the grill house, multilayer wall panels are used. Outside, the walls consist of glued or profiled timber; lining or any other simple wood material is more suitable for interior decoration. Between these layers lay a special non-combustible insulation.

All wooden surfaces of the grill house must be treated with Pinotex, which has fire and moisture resistant properties. This is necessary so that the use of the stove inside a wooden room does not turn into a disaster.

Where is the oven located?

The classic view of the grill house implies the location of the oven in the center of the room. Before installing it, it is necessary to thoroughly prepare the foundation and foundation for the furnace.

Often the foundation is a concrete platform, on top of which a plinth is installed. This is necessary to place a gazebo on the floor for arranging a blower - a pipe that will take air from the outside and supply it inside the hearth, while creating traction and freeing the room from carbon monoxide.

If the grill house is planned to be built on reinforced concrete piles, there is no need for a blower pipe, since the room will be naturally ventilated through the floor.

Above the stove, there must be a hood and a chimney, the pipe of which goes out through the roof. Of course, the ideal option for such a house is the so-called sandwich chimney. Visually, it can be seen by paying attention to the gaps in the dome of the roof of the grill gazebo, through which heated air will exit the room.

The basis for the stove, as a rule, is a round table, at which guests and owners of the house will willingly accommodate.

Main stages of construction

Let's take a look at several basic steps that allow you to build the grill house of your dreams as accurately as possible.

  • markup allows you to choose a place for construction, where the foundation will be laid out. First, the top layer of soil with vegetation is removed. Then the site is covered with sand, crushed stone and gravel, which must be compacted. If necessary, a blower pipe is laid. The site is again covered with the previous ingredients. The screed is poured.
  • Frame installation the grill house gives a solid foundation to the future structure. Since the gazebo has the shape of a hexagon, it is necessary to install six vertical bars in each corner of the geometric figure. These bars are connected in three places: at the base, in the middle and on top. The frame is considered correctly installed when the angle between the fastened vertical bars is 60 degrees.
  • Roof fabrication and installation. It consists of two main parts: the frame and the rafters. The first has six bars, each of which has two rafters.
  • Grill house lining outside should be made of moisture-resistant OSB material. After installing the frame and sheathing, you can do the doors and windows.
  • Installing the hearth in the center of the room is the final stage in the creation of a grill house. Installation of the furnace is simple, but strictly according to the instructions for it. Do not forget about the installation of the hood and chimney.

Despite modern innovations in technological progress, it is human nature to strive to return to the primitive state. Everyone is drawn to get closer to nature. Therefore, the grill house is so popular, providing maximum comfort for all kinds of barbecue events, barbecues and other summer outings.

Unfortunately, sometimes adverse weather conditions in an inhospitable harsh climate do not allow you to fully enjoy the delights of nature. In the rain or in snowdrifts, it is impossible to have a normal rest and treat yourself to a kebab from the heat, from the heat. However, if you build a modern and comfortable grill house on your summer cottage with your own hands, you can forget about natural disgrace.

Tourism lovers also do not have to go for new experiences to distant countries. A cozy house of your own will allow you to enjoy the exotic in a well-known and familiar territory. Admirers of shish kebab culture and barbeque can have fun regardless of natural disasters like heavy rain or even a blizzard that sweeps all the surroundings with snowdrifts.

If you want to usefully spend your free time at your own summer cottage, the best option is a grill house. The undeniable advantages of such a structure are:

  1. The opportunity to cook hot mulled wine with your own hands, grill potatoes and kebabs on coals, which cannot be compared in taste with those prepared even in luxurious city apartments. The smell of the haze of an open fire gives the dishes a certain primal aroma, returning to the origins of life.
  2. Save time and effort on the preparation of a variety of culinary creations on the grill. In the process of cooking, you do not have to leave the room to the outdoor fire, since the live fire is located directly in the center of the gazebo.
  3. The versatility of the gazebos of the type described above allows you to combine them with a bathhouse, use friends who stayed late late for an overnight stay, as a summer residence or seasonal office.
  4. Small on the outside, such country houses are quite spacious inside due to the six- or octagonal shape.

The best place for a countryside holiday in the bosom of nature are multifunctional barbecue houses equipped with grills.

Such gazebos allow you to use the primitive hearth indoors thanks to a progressive ventilation system that provides reliable air circulation.

A great opportunity to spend time outside the dusty and bustling city is provided by a cozy grill house located on its own plot. To enjoy the bewitching beauty of an open fire, without worrying about protecting the hearth from rain and snow, will allow you to build a comfortable closed gazebo in the Scandinavian style with your own hands.

To fool the harsh climate that prevents a relaxing holiday, enterprising neighbors from Finland have invented a grill house that allows you to enjoy the pristine surrounding beauty.

In addition to the direct purpose for barbecue, such facilities can be used for other purposes:

  • A functional house is quite capable of replacing a summer kitchen. Moreover, an open fire will give the prepared dishes a unique taste;
  • As an additional guest room with a large number of visitors, the house can be equipped with a fairly comfortable sleeping place;
  • Such a country house will perfectly cope with the role of a summer residence or office;
  • By combining such a gazebo with a bath, you can enjoy water treatments;
  • Using the building for seasonal storage of garden tools, try not to block up the passage to the hearth so that at any time, if desired, there is an opportunity to cook delicious food on fire;
  • The grill house serves not only for organizing gatherings around the barbecue in the circle of relatives or friends, it can be used as a place of solitude where you can calmly think about life.

Based on the purpose of such a suburban building, the shape of the room and the interior equipment are selected. Modern materials provide a huge selection of various designs, such as a grill house or a barbecue gazebo. Even an ordinary layman who is not familiar with the intricacies of construction skills is able to assemble such a structure on the territory of a garden suburban area.

Quite extensive experience of neighbors from Finland in the use of such structures affected the extreme popularity of the Scandinavian plagues. It is this form that modern grill huts have acquired in the interpretation of northern craftsmen.

Deep historical roots are reflected in the functionality of such buildings. Finnish grill houses owe their appearance to Lapland sod huts, which protected the inhabitants of the harsh Norwegian tundra from the disgrace of nature. Such buildings saved the indigenous people from severe frosts, heavy rains and other weather troubles.

Of course, you can buy a ready-made and fully equipped grill house, but it is much more pleasant to arrange a place for a family holiday with your own hands. Barbecue, charcoal grilled potatoes or mouth-watering kebabs will undoubtedly taste much better under the roof. Of particular pleasure are such grill gazebos in bad weather, when bad weather rages outside the walls, and a calm fire crackles comfortably in the center of the house, spreading the smells of barbecue and hand-made delicacies throughout the room.

It is necessary to determine the functional purpose of the summer cottage immediately before the start of construction. The shape, size and interior decoration of the room depends on it. After that, you can consider the proposed drawings of the barbecue building.

When choosing a closed house for summer holidays or an open gazebo for barbecue events, it is necessary to accurately designate the building material that will be required during the construction and internal equipment of this structure.

For harsh climates, stone can be used, although due to the internal heat source in the form of a live fire in the middle of the room, a wooden grill house is the most common option.

Natural skins, carelessly thrown on the benches around the hearth, contribute to the creation of a primitive entourage. The seats can be made folding to save space.

Such gazebos and modern plague grills allow you to return to the primeval origins of human existence. A comfortable stay under a cozy roof outside the bustle of the city brings you closer to nature.

Finnish grill house

Among the many different options for summer kitchens, grill houses or Finnish gazebos with a barbecue oven, stylized as a Lapland tent, are in high demand. A typical Finnish gazebo usually has a classic octagonal shape, 3 m high and 6 m2 in area. These are the optimal dimensions of the grill house, which allow 10 people to perfectly accommodate in such a house at once.

The design of Finnish arbors was developed at the end of the 19th century and has come down to our time in almost the same form, having undergone only minor changes. Such a structure is very convenient and fits perfectly into modern landscape design.

Finnish house grill
Finnish grill house is equipped with a stove

Due to the fact that the gazebo is a closed room, and even equipped with a stove that simultaneously serves both for cooking and for heating, it can be used both in summer and in winter.

The walls of the grill house on the outside are usually made of profiled timber, lining, imitation timber and other wood materials are used inside. In addition, the panels inside the house are insulated with mineral board, wood-fiber insulation or extruded polystyrene foam.

In Finnish gazebos there is a barbecue oven in the photo

In Finnish gazebos, there is always a barbecue oven, for which a special foundation is made of a concrete screed and wooden elements designed in a certain way and laid on it. The roof is well insulated with a special material with a protective waterproofing film, and soft tiles or mats made of straw or reeds are used for the roof. Finnish gazebos have large windows that make the structure lighter and more airy, and also open up a beautiful panorama for the people inside.

Typically, the design includes several basic elements - a foundation, a plinth, a base, walls and a roof, as well as windows and doors. But there are also such light structures that are built directly on the ground, without a foundation - only paving slabs are used. There are gazebos without walls, when the roof rests only on support posts, and therefore, windows and doors are not needed. There are generally island summer kitchens that have neither walls nor a roof, and the crown of a tree serves as a roof at best. There are many options, so in each case one or another set of materials is used.

For the construction of grill houses, a solid foundation is required, and they are usually made of reinforced concrete and at the same time use a metal mesh as reinforcement and cement mortar or ready-made solid concrete blocks. According to professional builders, the base must be strong, and you can save on materials for the upper part of the structure. Therefore, the "correct" foundation is a guarantee that the building will be sufficiently durable. Sequential assembly of the grill house begins with marking the site and laying the right type of foundation.

The foundation for the grill house in the photo

In addition to the foundation, it is recommended to make a plinth protruding from the outside of the wall. And although you can do without it, however, when building a kitchen in the form of a grill house, it is better to make a foundation with a plinth according to all the rules of high-quality construction, since it not only performs a decorative function, but also gives the whole structure greater stability. As a simplified version, stone is used as the foundation of the summer kitchen, or tiles are simply laid on the leveled ground (for open terraces, etc.). But what to make the base from depends on the type of soil.
In the case of building a grill house of a closed type, after pouring the foundation from wooden beams, a floor base is made, on which boards or chipboard are laid, and then, for example, linoleum is laid or the floor is laid with special non-slip tiles. Clinker tiles can be used as a covering for interior or exterior surfaces (for example, terraces and paths).
It is not enough to build a grill house, you still need to properly equip it and equip it with heating elements.

If you plan to lay a brick barbecue oven or a Russian oven for cooking and heating, it is necessary to leave a place under it at the stage of laying the foundation, on which to lay down a reinforced base for the oven in compliance with all technical requirements. For the construction of a furnace, a special heat-resistant brick is required, which will be discussed in more detail in a separate chapter on the construction of furnaces and barbecues. If there is a stove, then a chimney is definitely needed, under which a hole is made in the roof. If there is no roof at all (for example, in the case of an island kitchen), it is not necessary to make a pipe.

But in any case, when installing a barbecue or stove, all fire safety rules must be observed, for example, you can’t braid the kitchen with plants, especially near the hearth.

Construction of a Finnish grill house

The next step is to build walls. For a Finnish grill house or a closed gazebo, these are heavy walls made of stone, brick, blocks of gas or foam concrete, which will ensure a long service life of the working building and keep heat well. Kitchens built from such materials can be used all year round. If desired, the walls of the house can even be built from adobe - blocks from a mixture of clay and straw. This material keeps the room pleasantly cool even in hot weather. Closed summer kitchens are built and wooden - from a log house, boards, beams. For wooden structures, a frame is preliminarily erected, which is then sheathed with boards.

In addition to boards, for the construction of walls in frame structures, drywall, lining, plywood are used, in rare cases - sheet metal, which is very hot, which is not very good for the kitchen in general, and especially in summer.

This list of materials for lightweight walls can include sheet polycarbonate, as well as sheet glass. Structures with walls made of this material look airy and almost weightless, especially at night, when the lights are on inside the gazebo. And in the daytime, a beautiful landscape opens up behind the wide panoramic walls.

One or two sides of the terrace adjoin the house, so walls are either not required at all, or its sides or front can be covered with curtains, pergolas or battens. In the same way, you can partially or completely close the veranda. In addition, openwork partitions, hinged windows, etc. can be installed.

The frame for the grill house is made not only from wood, but also from metal. It is clear that a metal frame is more reliable and can withstand a heavier roof than a wooden one.

The roof of the Finnish grill house in the photo

In open buildings, the roof does not rest on the walls, but on support posts made of stone, brick, wooden beams, metal pipes or pins. The choice of material for supports depends on the type of roof and how light or heavy it is. Naturally, heavier roofs require stronger and stronger posts. So, if they are wooden columns (the easiest option), the roof should also not be heavy - wooden or made of beautiful plastic. Metal columns, respectively, will be able to withstand a heavier roof, such as sheet metal.

So, in the manufacture of a metal Finnish gazebo, you can use an aluminum profile, a profile pipe or forged metal for the frame. For greater structural stability and to protect the metal from oxidation, a concrete platform is required under such a frame. The foundation can be stone, and although it costs more, it looks much more spectacular. After the foundation is ready, a metal frame is installed. Then you need to block the structure and make the floor by laying it with tiles or laying boards.

If a building has walls, it is assumed that there must also be windows and doors. Windows must be glazed and openable. You can make frames yourself from wooden beams, use old ones after replacing windows in an apartment, or order plastic windows. The door can also be made independently or bought ready-made. Depending on the type of summer kitchen, windows and doors in it can be light and airy, as, for example, for a frame wooden gazebo, or more durable and heavy, with locks, insulated - for a brick house, designed for winter operation.

Finnish grill houses

In order to assemble grill and barbecue houses, any roof material can be used, because the metal structure can withstand any weight. The walls, if desired, can also be made of metal sheets - the structure will withstand them. You can use forged elements in the design inside and out, decorating the building columns or railings (if any, instead of walls), combine metal with wood, etc.

Metal roof
tile roof

For the manufacture of roofing in the construction of a Finnish gazebo for a summer residence, a variety of materials are used: for more capital buildings - slate, metal profiles, tiles, wood; for lighter kitchen gazebos or kitchen terraces - graceful polycarbonate awnings, folding and sliding awnings (there are even awnings with built-in heaters and lamps, but they are designed for more comfortable summer kitchens), awnings, etc.

Cabin with gas or electric stove

To equip a Finnish gazebo with a grill, special equipment is required - a gas or electric stove or a brick oven and a metal barbecue, a sink, cabinets for storing dishes and kitchen utensils, cabinets for storing firewood or coal (in the case of using a stove and barbecue) and, of course, kitchen furniture and other interior elements. Moreover, kitchen furniture, for example, can be made by hand. Even a person who has undertaken this for the first time is quite capable of making a kitchen table and wooden benches for arranging a summer dining room, not to mention various little things made from natural materials that will decorate the kitchen and bring a special flavor. In most cases, various improvised means are suitable for this, anything - at will.

Finnish grill house in the photo

Special materials will be required to bring communications to the summer kitchen - plumbing, drainage systems, electrical networks, etc. All of them must be included in the design project, and work on their connection is carried out at the stage of building the foundation and walls of the kitchen.

To build a grill house, you will need a lot of materials, but if you build everything with your own hands, in any case, it will be much cheaper than paying for the services of a construction company. In addition, in your project, you can use any material, depending on financial possibilities: you can afford to combine different materials according to your own taste. It is especially convenient if the materials are left over from the main construction or repair. Thus, it will be possible at the same time to save on the purchase of building materials, and to get a new practical and convenient structure, as well as to maintain this building in the same style as the main house due to the use of the same material.

The room of the Finnish gazebo will inevitably freeze in winter and “thaw” in spring, so all finishing materials for it must be designed for such operation and have good resistance to moisture, temperature changes, and ultraviolet radiation. In addition, it is desirable that the facing material during operation does not require special care and additional costs for the processing and restoration of damaged areas. Look inside the grill house - the options for decorating wall and ceiling structures are shown.

These Finnish gazebos in the photo can be a source of ideas and inspiration for the implementation of the most daring ideas in a personal or summer cottage:

Each of the materials used in the construction of Finnish grill houses has its own advantages and disadvantages, and each allows you to create structures of a certain type in the chosen style.

Finnish gazebo with a metal frame in the photo

Finnish gazebos with a metal frame are very beautiful and elegant. These light openwork structures do not clutter up the natural space, fit perfectly into the landscape and give those inside the opportunity to admire the scenery. Such a design can be made open or closed by making a fence made of glass or polycarbonate. However, we must not forget that for all its reliability and durability, the metal needs a special coating to protect it from corrosion.

Brick house grill
Grill stone house

Brick or stone arbors most of all create the impression of solidity, solidity and reliability. And this impression is quite justified. Brickwork provides good thermal insulation and has a high degree of resistance to various natural factors, so this kitchen will last a long time and can be used not only in summer, but also in winter. In addition, the brick is fire resistant, which means it is most suitable for installing a wood-burning stove.

Foam concrete and aerated concrete are generally a universal material that is used in the construction of various structures. It is insensitive to temperature changes, does not absorb moisture and odors, does not shrink, is fireproof (does not support combustion), and most importantly, is affordable due to its low cost. In addition, buildings made of foam and aerated concrete blocks are relatively light in weight and do not require the construction of a massive foundation. All this is a great advantage over other building materials. Not without reason, in the construction of both the dachas themselves and the dacha utility rooms, it is blocks of foamed concrete that are used.

Grill wooden houses

On a note!

Recently, for our compatriots, summer vacation has become a kind of tradition, and it is associated not so much with garden work as with pleasant gatherings in the circle of relatives and friends.

To build a grill house, the first step is to prepare the base: remove the top layer of earth, fill it with sand and carefully tamp.

A real discovery for summer residents, especially those living in the northwestern region of Russia, have become closed and insulated grill houses that allow you to relax at any time of the year, regardless of the weather.

We owe this invention to our northern neighbors, the Finns. Finnish grill houses are multifunctional, they can not only serve as a great place to relax, but also replace the summer kitchen, provide extra beds if necessary.

General idea of Finnish grill houses

Finnish grill houses in appearance and internal structure resemble the plague of reindeer herders in Lapland, the ancient dwellings of the peoples of the North. Traditionally they are made of wood. Visually, grill houses are closed gazebos, usually hexagonal in shape, mounted on a solid foundation, with a triangular roof with a chimney. All wall-faces and the door itself have small windows. The heart of this building is an open hearth located inside the house. Usually, universal stoves are installed so that you can cook food for every taste. Additionally, a smokehouse, a skewer, a barbecue can be installed.

A chimney located directly above the hearth will serve as protection against soot and smoke. In addition to cooking, Finnish grill stoves heat the room during the cold season. A tabletop is necessarily located around the hearth. Along the walls there are comfortable benches on which skins or pillows are laid. The grill arbor can be equipped in any style, but most often it looks like a hunting lodge. This building can accommodate up to 12 guests.

In today's market, there are a lot of offers to purchase a grill gazebo. However, you can get pleasure, win financially and aesthetically only by building such a house with your own hands.

Construction technology of the base and frame of the Finnish gazebo

Before you start building a gazebo, you need to choose a place for it so that the country house is nearby. At the chosen place, first of all, a round platform is marked under the base of the building and the top layer of soil is removed with a shovel. Sand, crushed stone, gravel are poured over its entire area, and all this is well compacted.

A plastic pipe is laid with an outlet to the street for blowing and again covered with sand and gravel. The site itself can be laid out for fire safety purposes with paving slabs, and along its edges with a curb stone. It should be clarified that if the grill house will be often used in winter, then its base must also be strengthened with a reinforced cement-concrete screed, and a floor tongue should be placed on top.

After creating a solid foundation for the grill house, you should proceed to the construction of its frame. For this, 6 main support pillars are installed, the dimensions of which are height 2.5 (m), section 100x100 (mm). Specially prepared wooden bars with a length of 1.5 (m) and a section of 80x80 (mm) horizontally fasten the main bars to each other - from above, below and in the center.

The angle obtained between them must be checked with a square, which should be 60 °. It should be noted that the bars are fastened together with the help of metal corners, self-tapping screws and an electric drill. Additional vertical bars are immediately installed on the walls for future windows and in the place of the planned installation of the door frame.

The turn has come to design the roof frame, for which a roof frame with 6 corners is assembled from an edged board with a section of 50x100 (mm). It is important to remember that the inner diameter of the resulting hexagon must be equal to the diameter of the output pipe of the penetration. It is best to do this work on the ground, and then fix it at the top. The hexagon must be connected to the entire structure of the gazebo under construction with the help of rafters, which are also made from edged boards of the same section.

It should be noted that for a tighter fit of the rafters to the hexagon, their ends are sawn off at an angle of 30 °. To each of the supporting pillars, the rafters are installed in pairs. The roof frame is fastened with self-tapping screws, metal corners and an electric drill. Special nuts and washers can give additional strength to the structure. To extend the life of the building, it is imperative to treat the entire wooden frame of the house with Pinotex.
